I have felt tremor like movements in both my upper and lower eye lids since I was a teenager. My old PCP could not find a diagnosis. My tremors are not painful, but will last anywhere from a few seconds to 5 or more minutes and happen in both eyes. My NS is not sure if they are from my CM, my seizure disorder or unrelated and I am not on meds for it...Susan
Woah! I just experienced something like this yesterday! I was totally freaked out!! I posted about it in the Neurology Community under the post titled "Vision Earthquake-Like"
That would be interesting if this was related to chiari?
I thought it might be related to my migraines? Or one of the medications I was taking... like a seizure medication (for migraines) or the fact I am going off of effexor (anti-depressant) right now and probably experiencing some withdrawal symptoms (i've been going off of that drug for a very long time now... it's really difficult).
But yeah. I think I experienced something like this yesterday. I described my experience really in detail in my other post... maybe you can tell me if it's similar to what your daughters experience is?
Hi,
I guess that is a good description of the involuntary rapid eye movement...but it is a symptom of chiari and ur daughter is not alone.I have noticed I can have this with my eyes closed. This is one of the many issues that NS look for during an exam.
Once u find a chiari specialist u will begin to understand this so much more.
Below is a list of chiari symptoms.notice issues with the eyes)

I have been dealing with the shaky eye for 3 months now!!! It comes and goes but when it is here it is bad. I have it when my eye is open or shut. I often have to cover my left eye when driving becasue it will get so bad. My general dr told me it is stress and sleep dep., then I went to the eye dr and got glasses. Still here, I was just told yesterday they think I have Chiari and now it is all coming together. It is annoying, but I don't think harmful.
