4yr old not concentrating .

Hi,

I have a son who just turned 4.He is our first and only kid.he just started preschool.He has never been to school before.My kid is crazy about alphabets and numbers always.most of the time he is thinking about alphabets and numbers how can i change him?He know his colours ,numbers till 99999. he know a lot of words and spelling and can read a book.But again whenever he sees an alphabet book he wants that book only. He wants to play on his own and does not want to mingle with other kids.His teacher says he does not pay attention and that she has to repeat 3 or 4 times and then only my kid will do . .She says that he does not do most  of the things that his classmates do  like taking out his lunch box from the bag .She says that she has to remind him to do .How can i get him to play with the other kids and concentrate and have fun.He does not talk stories like the other kids of his age do. Say if I ask him what you did in school he does not reply.Is anything wrong with my son  .Please help.Even at home he is very slow in dressing and doing the regular jobs .How can i help him ?Please suggest

My opinion is that you should relax and enjoy your child. Nothing you mentioned invites concern, let alone alarm. Your son is only four and he is acting like a four-year-old. Enjoy him - these years pass by very quickly and you are expending energy worrying about things you needn't worry about.
