Child on Adderoll And Zyprexa used together

Question regarding 2 year old who is 50 lbs and has been diagnosed with Pervasive Development Disorder and Operational Defiant Disorder he has been prescribed Zyprexa 10 mg and Adderol 5mg is to be added when approved by insurance....I am concerned for the health of the child with all this medication.  Could you please let me know what are the side effects and if they should be used together?

It is safe for the two medicines to be used together. Your child is very young, and I imagine that he/she must be very difficult to manage if these medicines are being recommended. It is unusual, but not unheard of, for medication to be employed with a child so young, and the diagnoses of Pervasive Developmental Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (a type of Disruptive Behavior Disorder) indicate a serious level of emotional disturbance. I'm sure the prescribing doctor will monitor your child for the appearance of any central nervous system side effects from the Zyprexa. Weight gain is a likely side effect, and of course your chiuld is already large for his/her age. The psychostimulant (Adderall (adderrall)) may lessen that to some extent, because it can be an appetite suppressant.
