Speech Disability

I have a daughter who is now approaching 3 yrs. Unfortunately she has not yet started speaking / uttering a single word.It seems that there is nothing like herditary because both the father & the mother started before that. Another question regarding the same coming to my mind is - How to fill the gap between chronological age & mental age ?

If you have not already done so, seek an evaluation by a Speech and Language pathologist. Your daughter is significantly behind the level that should be expected for her age. It is possible that she displays some form of developmental disorder or disability, but this needs to be determined. If there is a significant discrepancy between chronological and developmetal ages, special educational resources will be necessary, as well as other services.
