Wetting accidents

A child who has been toilet trained for four years suddenly starts having wetting accidents (first at home) and now at school.  Is this a psychological issue?

The first thing I would do is rule out any medical concern, particularly any sort of infection in the urinary tract. That would be the most likely explanation. If all is well medically, then it makes sense to look at other possible explanations for the change. While most examples of diurnal enuresis are not to be explained by psychological or emotional factors, sometimes this can be the case. If you suspect that your child's emotional functioning is contributing to his eniresis, arrange for an evaluation.
