temper at 1

my son will be one in a week and he just screams when he doesnt get his way at the top of his lungs! driving me crazy, first thing in the morning he used to play in his crib and talk and wake up now he just screams at the top of his lungs and as soon as he knows im in his room he stops, if he wants a bottle instead of being patiant like he used to he just screams so loud even if hes watching me make it!! or if im busy doing somthing and he wants my attention instead of just standing at my leg like he used to he just sits and screams! ive tried time outs it just gets worse, ive tried ignoring him but it just gets worse! WHAT DO I DO ????

Probably the most important change you can make is to stop 'letting' the noise bother you. Tell yourself: "It's just noise - there's no reason to be emotional about it". Each time you respond to the noise you are reinforcing it. Wait until your son is quiet, even for a moment, and then respond. You do not have to be punitive about this. This is not the sort of behavior that invites use of time out.
