cracked vertebrate

I have just been told I have cracked a vertebra (about 4/5 from bottom of spine).  What is the usual treatment?  What can i do or what actions should I avoide,  I am in quite a lot of muscular pain as well.  Thanks.

Linda, thanks for writing.

I believe that a spinal surgeon would be the more appropriate physician to ask about treatments for fractured vertebrae.

Regarding activities to avoid... It would probably be best to avoid direct spinal manipulations to that segment, as well as any vigorous activities that stress that portion of the spine.
