Chronic cough

I've had a hacking, spasmodic cough for over a year, some production and sometimes gag response with it.  My chest x-ray was normal, however, some pulmonary edema was present per exam.  I cough suddenly during the day, after walking exercise, and all through the night.  Does this sound like RAD?
Thank you.

Yes, this does suggest the diagnosis of reactive airways disease (RAD) or asthma.  You should be tested for this.  Typically RAD/asthma does not cause pulmonary edema and, if that was truly present, the diagnosis of what is called hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) would be a definite possibility.  It to is a very treatable disease.  Discuss this with your doctor.
