Bellergal Off the Market

I've posted this info and question in the Women's Health area, but saw this Bellergal topic and thought posting it here also would be of benefit.

've been on Hormone Replacement Therapy for years and at times I've needed to supplement that with Bellergal.  I understand the FDA has ordered pharmaseutical companies to stop marketing this drug and all drugs containing ergotamine.  To say that I don't do well without this drug is an understatement.  My doctor has prescribed a substitute, Donnetal, but it has no effect on my symptoms.  I'm assuming this is because that drug does not contain ergotamine.  The FDA's letter regarding the stop marketing order said it was because the companies didn't have proper approval and that packaging was inappropriate.  I believe something else must underlie their decision.  

My question is; does anyone know whether this drug or similar drugs can be purchased on-line through Canadian pharmacies, or failing that is there an alternative medication.
