Imipramine,Side effects?

I am 35 years old, 14 days ago I was prescibed Imipramine 25mg for minor anxiety, The first two days I was fine, Then I started experiencing, a disconnected feelng, I then couldn't stand up without getting Ill, I had numbness in my hand & leg,tunnel vision, Sensitive to light, To name a few. I went off the meds last night.I was also prescibed 300 mg of Zantac at the same time,Are these common side effects to either of these meds? I still feel terrible but a little better now that I have not taken it.Thanks

               Imipramine (Tofranil) is a tricyclic antidepressant that is used in the treatment of depression and anxiety. Side effects such as low blood pressure, palpitations, heart problems, disorientation, delusions, insomnia, anxiety, nightmares, tingling, numbness, incoordination, dry mouth, blurred vision, jaundice etc. can result from Tofranil use. Zantac can cause some of these  side effects. At present there are several newer medications that are available in the market , which were proven to be safe and effective in the treatment of anxiety.

             I would recommend that you discuss with your physician/psychiatrist in detail about your concerns. A change in medication may help  relieve your anxiety. I hope this information is helpful to you.
