Multiple Schlerosis

Hi,
I'm having a presentation in my Microbiology class next week about stress and the immune system.
One of the topics I'm writing about is Multiple Sclerosis and how stress affects it.
Do you know how prolonged stress can cause Multiple Sclerosis or how stress makes symptoms worse for people with MS?
Any information would be helpful (studies, cellular activity, etc.)
Thank you very much for your help.

Sorry, I do not have any specific references for you, but on a clinical basis, there is no question that stress makes the symptoms worse on a temporary basis.  that does not mean that it actually effects the long term course of the disease, which is notoriously unpredictable.
