Possible antisocial personality disorder

Possible antisocial personality disorder

I think my ex-boyfriend may have antisocial personality disorder.  He has been a drug abuser for many years.  He constantly lies about everything, borrows (without returning), steals, cannot hold a steady job, throws temper tantrums, and makes promises he never keeps.  We live in the same apartment complex, and it's hard to avoid him.  Even though we've been broken up for over a year, he still calls and comes by all the time (a few times per day).  My family is worried about my safety.  They think that he has antisocial personality disorder, and could possibly hurt me.  He has never physically hurt me before, and I am not worried. Should I be?  Does he have the symptoms of antisocial behavior?

He certainly could be described that way, but regardless of the particular label, your ex is a troubled person and seems to be in for a rough ride in life.   No one can predict if he is dangerous, but he has all the signs of being dangerous, so you should be cautious.
