Fungal...err..melasma

I first saw my doctor for a ''rash'' on my forearm about two years ago. He prescribed Lamisil. That did nothing. My doctor retired so I saw a different one and she said nothing stands out to her and to use Cortizone if it itched [it doesn't itch]. I just went in for a physical with a different doctor. I told her about it and she said the same thing, just a little hyperpigmentation, didn't prescribe anything. I did a little research and am finding things about melasma which I'm beginning to think maybe this is what I have. But now I'm seeing stuff about melasma caused by fungus...hmmm. Does anyone have any recommendations for some natural cures? The doctors don't seem to care.
