Pemphigus (?)

by Me01minor, Mar 26, 2008 08:43AM
Dear Sir or Madam,
I have not been formally diagnosed with Pemphigus - for over a year now I have been experiencing PAINFUL breakouts that begin with a swelling of my lips, within 24-36 hours large erosions begin to form inside my mouth - all along cheek walls, under tongue, up under my lips and soft palate, I also will have erosions in my nose.  The erosions last for about 7-10 days.  My primary care physician has asked about foods or other triggers that may be causal for a breakout - nothing obvious and the outbreaks do not seem to have a pattern to them.  Since my last outbreak (February 20th - March 3rd) I have been taken off of all medications (Valtrex {at one point MD felt that I had HSV and was using Valtrex for suppresive therapy}, Fluoxetine (generic for Prozac)).  I am wondering if there is a "rhyme or reason" to the outbreaks in people diagnosed with Pemphigus??  I thank you for your time and information as I negotiate the medical field to determine the cause of these outbreaks.

Respectfully,
Melissa
