Pityriasis Rosea Relief..

by chicchicchic, Dec 07, 2008 02:51PM
I was recently diagnosed with pityriasis rosea and was told that there was no cure or treatment for the skin disorder.  It is taking over my body with spots on my sides, legs, arms, and back.  I am taking benadryl at night to sleep and basically leaving it alone, although it itches like crazy.  I am not insured and could go to the dermatologist but I'm afraid that I will waste more money if I do to find that I'll be sent home with no relief.  This disease is awful, I really need help but have no idea what to know.  I have read online but basically there is not much out there about it, the causes, successful treatments, or OTC remedies.  Please help if possible.

Signed,
Going crazy in my own skin.

Hi there.  I am not really sure what to tell you.  I think I have PR as well.  After everything I've read online....a lot of people are saying that they have positive results with a tanning bed.  Even in a few sessions.  Of course depending on your skin type...start out small.  I'm fair so if it were me I'd go in for 5 minutes to start.  Can you do me a huge favor and view my post?

No one will answer me on this forum or any others.  I would really like someone to take a look at my pictures and tell me what this crazy rash is!  If you could let me know if yours looks anything similar, that'd be great.  I'm sorry to hear that you are itchy.  I am not itchy except for the bumps that are in my hairline near my neck.  Hope you feel better soon.  Good luck!
