I have had sores on the insides of my cheeks for 3 months. I now have blisters on my legs and arms which are appearing on a fairly regularRegular insulin basis. My PCP saide it was probably a autoimmune thing and refered me to a dermatologist. The soonest appointment I could get is in August. I do not have a diagnosis of Pemphigus Vulgaris but I do seem to have the symptoms. Who should I see? What kind of specialist do I need? I am going to see if I can see a doctor of some sort at a medical center because eating is painfulPainful menstrual periods right now and I don't want to wait 4 months to see someone.
It is possible that you may have Pemphigus vulgaris, however, this can only be determined by a qualified doctor. In your case this would be a dermatologist since your symptoms are on the skin and mucous membranes.
Pemphigus is of various kinds and is treatable. You may find more information at:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pemphigus
Hope this helps. let us know if you may need more information.
