rash on leg/groin area

a few months ago i noticed a small red spot on my inner left thigh next to the groin area. in a matter of a few days to weeks it has grew in size. it looks like a tan/brown spot with a red rings around it. the red ring is not swollen that much and it itches while the tan/brown spot does not, and it looks as tho its scared or somewhat flakey. here recently another small one has formed in the same area however this one is on the right thigh. i've been tested for STD's and have come up clean. ive made a doctors appointment but i'd like to know what i'm dealing with here as a possibility.

It can be due to a ringworm or nummular dermatitis. From the description(dry, red, itchy), it seems like nummular dermatitis but exact confirmation has to be done first. Steroids prescribed in nummular dermatitis can worsen the symptoms if it is ringworm.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
