Atypical moles need close monitoring. There is a need to watch out for any change in size, shape, color and overall appearance of the mole.
Refrain from touching the mole unnecessarily as this may only irritate the skin. Also, do not apply anything on the mole or the face without informing your doctor. For any redness, swelling, pain and discharge ,a prompt consult is necessary.

I understand your concern. A red mole however does not signify that what you have is cancerous.
There are several types of moles or nevus and some of them may be atypical or dysplastic in appearance .Some may be skin colored and some may have a whitish coloration on them These moles should be evaluated and assessed by a physician for a baseline assessment.A picture of the mole may be taken.
