I have a stray red heeler that has appeared at our house. He started limping and I took him to the vet. The vet thinks he has a torn ACL in his hind leg. When I came home tonight the muscle is now loose and I'm really worried. He's a stray and I can't afford the $500 it will cost for surgery. I don't know what to do with him. He is really sweet and my girls love him, but I don't know if he will be crippled or if he will recover at this point. What are his chances? Any ideas????? Feeling a little helpless and hopeless.
