Puppy has bumps on his skin

I have a 12week old Boxer Puppy.  I just got him 2 days ago and notice bumps on his back.  He also has some bumps in his ears.  I don't see him scratching them, they are just there, bumps on skin.  I noticed it because his hair around these bumps are lifted, but when you pet him you don't feel them.  It's only because I noticed the hair difference and I separated the hairs and noticed the bumps.  They are not red, just kind of flaky.

What do you think he has?  ANy over the counter medicine or shampoo????

I'm honestly not certain exactly what it is, but it does sound like an allergic reaction.  Are you using the same food as the breeder?  If not, I would say it's a food allergy.  Grains are the first culprit to suspect in food allergies - particularly corn.  Don't be surprised if your pup starts scratching soon if the bumps don't resolve on their own.

Other allergens people don't often consider are general household allergens like dust mites.  If you don't dust and vacuum regularly (like once a week) step up your efforts in that direction.

It's also possible the breeder shampood your pup with a shampoo that is causing a reaction.  The best dog shampoos will have little detectable smell.  Oftentimes its the fragrance in the shampoo that causes the trouble.
