Complications from GERD

I've had acid reflux for about four years and for the past two have controlled it on Omeprazole 20mg.  About a month ago I started getting weird chest pains, went to the hospital where they gave me an anti-biotic and misdiagnosed as having pleurisy.

I went to see my GI doctor and we did an endoscopy that showed negative for Barrett's and just some redness around the duodenum.  After the endoscopy the chest pains disappeared but I started getting intense pains in my stomach that would feel like someone was stabbing me approximately 6cm directly above the belly button. It doesn't appear to be related to eating.  I also always feel like I'm full, even if I have not ate for hours.  My MD scheduled an ultrasound thinking it may be my gallbladder as my LFT was showing high but they found no stones.

Any idea what this could be or anything I can proactively approach either my GE or PCP about?

Hi,
It could be due to nonulcer dyspepsia. Nonulcer dyspepsia can occur due to various causes including H.pylori infection.

Take PPI along with prokinetics. If no relief found, check for H.pylori infection.
