GERD and Gallbladder

I was diagnosed with GERD November/December 2006 after I was found to have gallstones. I was also diagnosed with H.Pylori and had to do the PrevPac for two weeks. My GI doctor told me that my GERD "could" be caused by the gallstones. I had my gallblader (gallbladder) removed January 2007 and my GERD seems to have gotten a little worst. I do the TUMS EX weekly and Maalox every once in awhile. Do I need to be taking something prescribed?

Hi mstyler,
H.pylori and GERD usually dont go together most of the times. Gall stones do not cause GERD.
So for confirmation of GERD you need to undergo -
1. pH monitoring
2. Upper GI endoscopy

For treatment-
1. PPI twice a day immediately before meals for 4-8 weeks
2. Life style modifications
