My son has had lots of medical problems and now the Doctors are wanting to send him to a super doctor because of loss of weight, and still not able to eat anything other than a special formula (called EleCare) he is drinking 72 oz of this daily on adverage and is not able to eat anything else they have tried to give him food but his body shouts down he can’t poop for days he gets dried out and sometimes needs IVs I’m not for sure why he has all these problems and neither does his Doctors but I haven’t been able to work since I gave birth due to his medical problem and Even thou the Doctors want to refer him to a super doctor I can’t afford it I’m on state help and they will not transfer to another sate I have tried loco charities but most don’t help his condition. We need help to find out what is wrong with him before he dies my doctors tell me every time that I’m lucky that he has made it this far.

Hi,
Difficulty in defecating could be due to Hirschsprung disease or hypothryroidism.Intestinal obstruction due to other causes should also be ruled out.
Barium imaging studies may be done for evaluation.
