Nissan Redo again?

Nissan Redo again?

My 18 month old son was diagnoised with GERD when he was 2 months old. At 3 months he had the nissan performed. A couple of months later he had a redo. Now he is constantly reching and vomiting. He does not eat well - most of the time he is tube fed. An Upper GI showed that the wrap has moved up past the diaphram and a surgery may need to be done to fix the problem. So this leaves me with a couple of questions...

How many times does the nissan need to be redone, is this something that he will have to watch throughout his life?

Also, if the wrap is redone, will my son enjoy food? He eats very little by mouth and almost all together rejects his formula - but he will take juice!

Hi,
For slipped fundoplication with recurrence of symptoms, a reevaluation has to be done.
If the symptoms are severe, then a reoperation has to be done.
The success rate of the first surgery is about 90-95%. But the success rate drops during reoperations.Choosing the correct operation will decrease the risk of recurrence.

If the wrap is done properly, your son can enjoy food.
