amylase level high

I had blood work done in February -my amylase was 170 then 3 weeks later it was 179, the last time March 31 the level is now 189, lipase level is 59.  My doctor did a cat scan to rule out pancreatis (pancreatitis) which he did.  I have no gall bladder, and liver is fine.  I have no pain so he said he isn't concern with the levels and he would recheck them in 3 months.  I thought blood work is done to alert doctors to a problem.  High how does my level need to get before they are concern?

Pancreas is not the only source of amylase.
Serum amylase is considered significantly elevated only if it is more than 3 times the upper limit of normal.
