esophageal spasm

how do I stop esophagel spasms?  I have GERD, chronic esophagitis, hiatal hernia and Barret's esophagus.  I take OTC Prilosec every day, but every few months I am incapacitated by the excruciating pain of esophageal spasms.  someone please give me some helpful suggestions!

Hi,
I would suggest you undergo esophageal manometry test.
If spasms are documented, nitrates and  calcium channel blockers would be helpful. PPI should be continued.
