Pain after colonoscopy

I had a colonoscopy friday morning. It says on the report they gave me that I had numerous polyps, one 18 mm in size, that thye removed. Also it says I didn't tolerate the procedure well (I remember moaning and groaning and begging them to stop)as my bowel was twisted. I slept most of friday and into saturday.

I noticed this morning that I was very sore just above and to the right of my belly button. Also below and to the left. It has been difficult sitting down and rising because of this pain. When I walk it feels as if I'd gone rounds with a boxer.

Is it just trapped air? If so, how can I make it move? It's becoming increasingly painful and I'm starting to get a little nauseous.

Thank you both for your thoughts. I have friends who have gone thru this w/o pain and it just didn't seem right. I will call the clinic.

Nausea and pain like that can be the colon twisting again or a blockage caused from intussusception (swelling causing the colon to telescope into itself).  Call your GI (have their answering service page him/her).  You need a CT scan.

I nearly died just a few months ago from a twisted colon - take it seriously!

If your GI blows you off and you get more nauseated, begin vomiting, the pain becomes worse, or you get feverish get to the ER and tell them about the colonoscopy!

Best of everything

Moving around helps with the gas.  But I think I would contact your GI about the pain in your stomach.
