Upper left abdominal pain and back pain with wet sensation

I have pain in my left upper abdomen and ended up in the ER on Thursday.  They did a CT scan and blood work.  The CT showed nothing and the bloodwork only showed an elevated white blood cell count.  They refered me back to my GI doctor.  I met with him on Friday and he did an upper and lower endoscopy/colonoscopy yesterday.  Both of these showed nothing but I am waiting for the biopsies to come back to rule out Crohns and other diseases which I am sure will be negative.  I typically alternate good an bad days.  The pain in the front is at the bottom of my lung and sometimes is in my back near my kidney.  Here recently when it acts up I have a wet sensation in that general area.  I don't understand what it could be.  They told me at the ER that there are several organs in that area: stomach, kidney, pancreas, colon and lungs.  Since the stomach and colon have been checked, that leaves the pancreas and kidney.  I understand referral pain (pain that stems from somewhere else).  But I have already had my gallbladder removed 13 years ago.  They left three surgical clamps in me where they lasered the gallbladder off my liver.  One of the clamps broke free and migrated to my hip 6 weeks after the surgery, so when this pain started I thought maybe one of the clips had broken free and was poking my rib.  I have never had a broken rib but the pain is what I would imagine a broken rib would feel like and like someone was pushing on it.  Please let me know if anyone has any ideas or know what this pain and wet sensation could be.

This discussion is related to pain in left-upper abdomen: pancreas or gallbladder (or something else) ?.

I've been dealing with the same gnawing pain under my left ribcage cage that radiates to my left shoulder. Had colonscopy,  endoscopy, umtrasound, blood work, nothing. It feels like I'm having an anxiety attack and usually end up with diarrhea, nausea, etc. It comes and goes and I went to the er with it a couple times thinking I was having a heart attack. GI dr. put me on bentyl attacked said I have IBS. I haven't had it since but I have horrible joint pain in my hip and knee, left side. I'm going to go see my chripractoe, I hope it's just bursitis caused by my scoliosis and I don't have to stop taking the bentyl.

Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include GI/ GU infections/ inflammations, pleuritis, chest wall inflammation, costochondritis, causes related to the respiratory tract, cardio-vascular issues, neuro-muscular causes, referred pain from other regions etc. It would be best to have this evaluated by an internist initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
