Little white balls on the sides of my throat?

Recently, as in like 20 minutes ago, I noticed something on the sides of my throat. They're like little white balls and they seem to be lodged in the slits of my throat. (The side area, idk what that is). If felt like there was something in my throat, and I tried to drink water and swallow over and over again but it was still there.I tried to push one out with something but I have a really bad gag reflex and I kept gagging. Eventually I moved it, but it just fell back into the slit or hole back there. I thought it was just one side, but they're on both sides. My breath doesn't stink, but they do have a bad taste when I swallow.
What are they?
I'm freaking out because I thought it was some sort of infection. I feel fine though, and I just now noticed these things.

These little white balls come from your tonsils.  Your tonsils have holes and pits.  When you eat foods some food residue gets in these holes and pits and decay in the tonsils.
When the tonsils are full, some of this decaying matter is expelled into your throat and then hopefully you are able to get it into your mouth and spit it out; they tend to stick to the sides of your throat which is very annoying.  So, now you know why they stink; it is decaying matter.  Completely harmless.

I read someone else's post about this.  I don't have this myself, but I am quite sure this is tonsil stones.  http://www.tonsilstones.net/  They sound more annoying than serious.
