You are welcome. I hope your surgery goes well. I didn't think you had pancreatitis. Liver pain can refer and that is probably what happened in your case.
take care,

I spoke with the Dr. I was told I have a Hemangioma, which is a benign tumor on my Liver. I am going to see a Liver Surgeon on Thursday, We will then set a date for Surgery, due to the pain its causing. Thank you for feedback!
Hi again, I read some about pancreatitis. The two most common causes are alcohol and gall stones. Alcohol could be a connection between the pancreatitis and liver problems. But the following are other common causes of pancreatitis:
1. Steroids, mumps, Epstein Barr Virus and Cytomegalovirus, Lupus and other immune diseases, very high calcium, lipids and triglycerides, drugs: sulfa drugs, steroids, NSAID use, diuretics, duodenal ulcer, diabetic drugs especially Byetta.
The drugs could be a problem for both the pancrease and liver too. If you have been taking Byetta for diabetis it is very important to get treatment for that right away.
I would say there is cause for concern but you are getting it checked out. I hope this helps.

Hi and sorry you haven't been well. Well, aside from not knowing what caused you to get a bruise on your liver, the liver does regenerate. Did they do blood work which included an amylase and lipase test? The amylase and lipase test will be high if you have pancreatitis otherwise it may not have been pancreatitis and possibly referred pain. It is good you are following up the GI doc maybe they can figure out why you have these problems. I don't know if there is any connection between the pain near the pancreas and liver bruising.
hope you get well soon.

You should be concerned, but don't panic. Wishing you good health and good luck with your situation.
