The pinched nerve theory of your pain does sound right for the symptoms you describe in my non medical opinion. My husband had a pinched nerve in that area and had those same issues. He had a trigger for the pinched nerve and once that was eliminated, he got better without medical intervention other than the ibuprofen he regularly took at that time. (weird but the power drive on our mower went out and he was pushing it by force and we have a hilly and bumpy yard and it took great force to push that mower. He was in agony after mowing. We had someone mow our yard for us and it got better. He hadn't put it together yet it was the mowing and started mowing again, back came the pain. Got the mower drive fixed so it now moves on it's own when you have the lever switched on and no pain. But he had almost exactly what you describe, went to an orthopedic surgeon and was considering surgery. Once we realized it was the mower, he's better. That was two years ago and no reoccurance.)
I guess I would want to know what the labs that say abnormal were all about but yes, I think the doctor would have told you if there were any areas of concern. You can take your lab results to your primary care physician to review if you are worried. But a bigger consideration is this pinched nerve causing so much trouble. Let us know how this transpires!
