why is alcohol in my system if i dont drink?

I take ua's three times a week and I haven't been eating or getting enough fluids for about a month and when that started happening my urine has been testing positive for alcohol but I don't drink. How can this happen? If I was drinking I would be dead since I have chronic pancreantitis from alcohol since 2009. How can I prove that I honestly haven't been drinking? If anyone can help me, also am I just killing myself anyway without drinking cause I can't keep things down? Meaning is my pancreas going to be harmed by dehydration as well?

I am happy to report that the lab taking the tests finally sent my results to be looked at, they found me innocent of drinking alcohol!!! But, did find it was through sugars in my system was creating it in my body. So I was a rare case of someone with positives, but to be proven to not be drinking it.woo!!

I would see the doctor, because something isn't functioning well for this to happen.  You do need to drink more water, too, but that might not be the whole problem.  Also, since you're obviously already dehydrated, don't drink coffee.

Also for the last two years since I stopped drinking my liver enzymes are going up when I have acute pancreas attacks, why is that cause it will happen in the hospital when I am hydrated. I just feel like crap and in pain no matter what, but would probably die like I said if I drank.

Yeah I know that mouth wash and liquid cold stuff all have alcohol in them and stayed away from all of it. I just know I been so dehydrated that I throw up stomach bile. I had stopped taking pain medication at the time for my chronic pancreantitis and with it went my food and water cause it was hurting my pancreas to much. And yes I take them three times a week so I am not stupid enough to drink and my urine for the last month has been close to brown :,(

The alcohol tests are very sensitive. They can even detect alcohol-based hand sanitizer absorbed through the skin. And of course mouthwash.

Hello, I have a lot of experience with this issue over the last 24 years as a prison nurse, we have had our fair share of bad livers and pancreas. Check out this site, it might give you more insight!  Peace Bugz

Dehydration will cause many problems. It's just not good for any of your organs, especially your heart and kidneys.

If you're vomiting, you need to see a doctor, You should also have your blood sugar checked. The fact that you have pancreatitis may be the cause here (or it could be your liver) but you should consult a doctor.

Good luck to you-
