How to treat MTFHR?

I found out that I have two copies of C677T and MTHFR mutation in 2005 when I was pregnant with my daughter.  I also have hypertension, type II diabetes, and high cholesterol.  My question is should I be on a blood thinner?  I have a strong family history of heart disease and uncontrollable hypertension.  I took Lovenox when I was pregnant with my daughter and did fine with it.  Should I continue it as a preventable measure?  I mean why wait until I have a blood clot which could be deadly when I should just prevent it before it happens?

We recommend that you speak with your doctor regarding your questions and concerns. A doctor will be able to review your health history, including any genetic and non-genetic test results, order appropriate testing (if necessary) and discuss all of your possible treatment options.

You may also benefit from meeting with a genetic counselor who can review the genetics and inheritance of MTHFR with you. A genetic counselor can be found at the National Society of Genetic Counselors website or through companies like mine, AccessDNA. We wish you the best
