still birth risk with factor V and mhtfr c677t homozygous

My granddaughter's first baby was still born two weeks before his due date. The doctors and pathologist said they had no answer as to why we lost our baby boy. She is currently expecting her second child this November. The current OBGYN (new dr.) has diagnosed her with factor V leiden heterozygous and MHTFR C677T homozygous blood clotting disorders. This OBGYN seems to be more learned in this area. I understand she will be injecting 2 medications daily.(I don't know, but assume they're blood thinners). She is currently 5 months pregnant.
Q.  What should we expect? Will this tratment be timely enough to protect the baby and mother?
Q.  Why don't OBGYNs routinely test for clotting disorders etc.?
