Just tested with the Oraquick Oral Swab test just to be sure. Longest 20 minutes I have ever experienced. Came up negative, which I guess is what I should have expected. Guess I can move on now and concentrate on not making stupid mistakes.
So I guess I do not need to test. I never had any ARS type symptoms in the 2 to 4 weeks following the incident back in June. If I were to decide to test, would the Oraquick Oral Swab test be sufficient at this juncture?
Yes you are right, probability of the transmission is not that high as we expect. It is nature's blessing on us that, "deadlier is the virus, more difficult is the transmission".
Having said that, it is also a fact that sometime just a single exposure is enough for the transmission to take place, therefore 100% protection is recommended every time someone gets involved with anyone, outside his/her long term mutually committed monogamous relationship. We all know very well, that that for HIV, only treatment is available, not cure,,, and care is the only cure
Coming back to your situation, it is safely believed that you are not exposed to the risk, because your penis was covered with condom, and it is safe, regardless of the degree of erection you had, because as long as crown of your penis (urethra and foreskin, if you are uncircumcised), is covered, you are safe.
Though you do not need any test for this particular exposure, however you can always go for it any time now ONLY to lay all your residual worries to rest permanently, because now you will always get a final and conclusive result.
