Myringotomy

I have had two myringotomies since September. One for fluid the other for pressure. Will it heal this second time? Will I have alot of scar tissue and have hearing loss?

Hi and welcome to the Hearing Loss community. Sounds like bad luck for you--two procedures in as many months. Sorry. :(

You may have some scarring, but it will heal. Your eardrum is a continuation of your skin, just very thin. But it heals, like skin does. I wouldn't worry about that.

I would worry more about what is causing your to keep having problems with the pressure in your ear. Negative pressure is a common cause for fluid in the middle ear space. Did the ENT say what he thinks is causing the problem?

Best,
BC
