Sudden hearing loss and pushed to do surgery : is it the right approach?

I have experience a sudden hearing loss to my left ear on January 18th.
I do have a slight tinnitus and noises make the “background” noise in my left ear worst.

Nothing “strange” can be seen from the outside and the doctor suggested me to do the surgery as a first thing even before I actually did the MRI.

Considering hospitals here get money for surgeries, would you think their push for the surgery is suspect?

Do you think that considering the risks the surgery makes sense or can it wait?
