how much does LDN help with cognition?

Hi I'm 6 months post tx and experience various cognitive deficits that slowly destroy my life.
I heared about LDN and how it helps with cognitive impairment post interferon. Does someone has any experience about LDN, how it (or if) it helps with focus, abilities to communicate and socialize with others?any advice is welcomed. I'm on methadone at the moment and I will eliminate it for LDN.
my medication at the moment:

Bupropion 300 -0-0-0
Methadone HCl 60-0-0-0
Quietiapine retard 0-0-150-0
Quietiapine 0-0-0-50
Zopiclone 0-0-0-7.5
Mirtazepine 0-0-0-30
Lorazepam up to 3 times daily (1mg each)

Hi, I do take LDN, it has now been 4 months.   I have had HCV for about 30 years, but have not treated.   Waiting on the new treatments.   I am now sleeping better than I have in many years, actually sleep through the night.  My fatigue and overall body pain is much better.  I have energy to get through the day.  I also run an internet business, and have to be somewhat alert for that and dealing with customers.   My platelets went from 90 to 130, I know still low but improving.  LDN is very safe, so I think it is worth a shot for you.  I started at have stayed at 3 mg.

Hope this helps.  Judi

the cognitive problems will improve the further you get from treatment. at 6 months the drugs haven't completely left your body, you just have to be patient and try to stay positive/

Hello, I think that Frank takes the LDN.  I will point out your post to him.
I also worried about how someone on LDN would handle pain.
I am assuming you are taking the methadone for pain.
After I finished treating I took NADH it is an enzyme that is supposed to help repair our DNA RNA, in fact there is a web site called NADH and while they do sell supplements they have a lot of free information about how it can helped.
It helped me and a few others on here.  I also started taking l-tyrosine to try to replace dopamine levels as I read that interferon can reduce the dopamine levels in our body.
Take Care

Hi there.  Haven't heard from you in awhile.  I remember you were having a really hard time before with post treatment/cognitive issues.   At the time you hadn't disclosed you complete list of medication.  I can see by your list that you have had additional issues that may very well have added to you cognitive issues.  Any drugs that you take will process through your body at different durations.  Drug use contributes to cognitive impairment and is deeply rooted in your system and takes time to eliminate from your body.  Just like changing the oil in your car.  It takes time and a few changes to clean all the gunk out.  I really don't know anything about LDN but do remember your previous issues concerning cognitive matters.  You do sound much better than you did and it seems medication has helped you a great deal.  It's going to take time for you to move out of the very dark place you started at.  But it clearly looks like you are doing just that.  There isn't always a quick fix to get there and this may take some time.  But it does look like you are going in the right directions.  Your mother must be very releaved.

Best to you

think you have to cut right down on the methadone maybe even withdraw before you can take LDN it's the same family as Subutex/buprenorphine,an opiate antagonist which means your methadone won't work.It would be a better drug for you than methadone unless you are prescribed it for pain as opiates won't be effective whilst taking LDN-always worries me that which is why I don't take it. Do hope that helps
