I've eaten small meals all day for years - coping w hepc n not knowing it. I think water helps too, but personally feel it makes the Telaprevir diarrhea worse. I still guzzle.. Karen nice 2 hr nap today. Do u think the low grade fever makes u sleepier? Karen xoxoxo

I don't nap too often, but after cycling this morning, then mowing the lawn, a serious power nap felt great.  I've noticed during the week, if I take a late lunch, I'm sometimes completely exhausted and regret it.  Eating 5-6 smaller meals would be good if I could get into the habit.

Without a doubt !  I would take this complete pass out naps, without warning.

When my husband first started treatment, he found those unexpected waves frustrating... trying to run things on schedule was something he realized he had to give up.  On the other hand, he realized not too long into treatment that taking whole days off only left him more frustrated, because then he had spurts of energy to burn and nowhere to take it.

He compromised by taking what he refers to as his "power naps."  Being a landscaper, he found when a fatigue wave hit, he'd simply put tools out of sight, jump in the truck, and take a nap.  Usually it would be enough to pick him back up.  Sometimes he'd find he'd have to pack it all up and call it a day, but that was the exception rather than the rule (not counting the severe anemia episodes).  Also, if you find you're not sustaining energy levels because of lack of appetite, protein shakes help to keep your maintain your nutrition levels.  Hope that helps, and best of luck with treatment. ~eureka

I haven't even started tx and have the same symptoms presumably from hepc and diabetes and its meds.  Perhaps the tx will make things better.  Water helps sometimes, green tea, vit b12.  Wonder if it will continue to help or will I be somebody who can't get out of bed.

The main thing I've noticed is that I'm always tried and yawning. I'm to start the Vic at the end of the month, if it gets worse I think I'll be asleep through it. I'm really curious as to what my 2 week bloodwork will show, if anything. I've been hit bad with diarrhea over the past week, does this get better? I see my regular doctor tomorrow and will see what I take to help me. I did have bloodwork done for the regular doctor last week, so that was one week, will have to see if they show anything, then on Tuesday I do 2 week blood for the HCV. I just started and I'm already tired of being tired! Take care.

Welcome to treatment, I did two years of this in 2007 and don't think I every figured it out. I do feel water has a lot to do with it. Joe

Exactly! One day I can leave work n run errands, the next day I fall asleep sitting up n hurt all over. I've looked for some kind of predictability. Can't find it. Usually the day after shot is bad. Then it'll hit hard 4 days later sometimes.  I'm really hoping finishing inhibbies will reduce some SE. Maybe when my hmg gets back up? I can't remember if u have probs w that... Hmmm. Karen :) keep ur chin up.
