Red Bull drink and tx

Red Bull contains caffeine, taurine, glucuronolactone, B-group vitamins, sucrose, and glucose

In the last 3 weeks I had a few cans of Red Bull, maybe one can every third - forth day. It really help me tremendoulsy with the headaches. For me it works like this: headache leads to severe nausea and throwing up. 20 min after a Red Bull headache is gone, hence no nausea. Plus it is lifting the fog from the brain at same time

My question to you is: would taurine or glucoronaloctone potentially interfere with tx?
I already asked the nurse, pharmacysts and they do not know. I just called the Incivek line and they said that I should ask the pharmacist or the doctor. That's another way for "I have no idea"

Any thoughts?  Can any of you ask around to the help line over there?
I tink all ingredients should be fine but just want some peace of mind. If it is ok that means I could almost go without sx through the 12 weeks :)

(yea, I still have the low hemoglobin and a sort of nausea from a strange taste I cannot define but as long as I avoid carbs and other sugars it seems ok)

sorry but forgot to mention drinking water...headaches will come from dehyrdation...be sure to drink water.  Over the last few years have been working on becoming a vegetarian. I don't if I become a purist but the parts that I can change and control I am doing...just .hard for me to give up hard cheeses, yogurt and my brother keeps reminding me bacon and churizos aren't a vegetable or dairy product. And I make most of my foods from scratch...make my own soups, fruit drinks, vegetable drinks.Make my own yogurt.  If I had a house I would grow all my own vegetables. Are you sure you are ingesting at least 20 grams of fat when you take the incivek?  I understand the nausea...I would drink coke which is just as bad because of the sugar and caffine.  It is hard to weed yourself off the caffine but that is one of the things they tell you to do on tx.

just read a report about 5 hour energy and monster drinks...each one equals approximately 6 cups of coffee and over 200 mg of Vitamin B.  would think red bull would fall in to this category.  and then I saw the same thing on Dr. Oz...I know...I know BUT he did show a great slide with another doctor from consumerlabs, com who showed the ingestion pattern and the real concern was not so much the contents of the products but that the volume of the ingredients were multiplied and ingested in a few gulps and not throughout the day,  Do you have a nutritionist?  When I sat through the meeting for the tx it was surprising the difference of what the incivek rep said you could have anything, every citrus, then our clinical coordintator came in later and was going over the things you should avoid and she said to avoid all citrus.  You have to do the research and reading and find out what these products are.  I use to have terrible migraines and do have a script to treat them but also realized that when my blood pressure is high I get headaches.  So many things...listen to this people on this site who are seasoned posters...they know their stuff.

I drank some redbull while on treatment.  not for any particular reason. not any particular amount. I dont think I drank much of anything except for milk and water while on the incivek.  I am SVR. while you are on incivek they dont want you doing really anything that is questionable.  after that i think it is less of a big deal.  I dont think they (doc, research) even have all the answers yet.

Cannot answer your question regarding red bull ingredients, but, I would make sure to stay hydrated because the large dose of caffeine can be dehydrating.

Although I tend to think Redbull is not a good thing, health wise, I also think whatever works, especially when it comes to tx.

I know that doesn't answer your question. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I, will be along to help out.

Glad you're feeling better :)
