He ordered the same test all 3 times. It is quest lab 5-7500
Which is why I didn't know what my viral load was exactly after lead in 4 wks w/soc. It just said >7500
week 8 undetectable
Week 9 [ vl 12 ]
He said at the time it was the most sensitive on the low end and thought it was important. He also said under 100 was undetectable in other assays(tests) but I guess he is just being thorough.
I'm going to keep my eyes on the prize. I'll post tomorrow this google scholar alert I got on a study that says with the PI's a longer treatment time made no difference in the outcome it is 75% whether or not it is 28 or 38 weeks and I'm sticking to it.
Headache。・°°・(>_<)・°°・。
Night all thanks for the support!
I'm guessing that you had a less sensitive test for the 8 wk PCR and the more sensitive TMA test done at 9 wks was able to quantify the virus. Is it possible that the reason your doctor ordered this additional test was because the test read: <43, detected? I find it a bit odd the doctor ordered the more sensitive TMA only one week after the 8 wk und. The TMA can quantify the virus down to 5, whereas, the RT-PCR is 43 for Quest. Discuss further with your doctor and wish you the best in doing what you need to do to clear this.
you are doing great.......just stay positive.....my Dr and RN went to a symposium two wks ago, there are studies that prove reduction of Riba does not reduce clearance % much. Stay focused on UND......it's here....trust..

Reference Range(s)
Hepatitis C RNA,Quantitative,PCR: Less than 50 IU/mL
Less than 1.7 LogIU/mL
I get so confused with these tests. I put what you wrote into google and got this Quest test. However the range is not the same.
Who is the lab, triple? I don't know what the deal is
VIRAL LOAD 12. I didn't even ask about HGB ...yes I have the lab order for week 12 which is November 17.
I think I'm going back to 800 MG of RIBA. I'm just getting a rash. I'm going to power through this.
Thanks nygirl!
TC your VL is 12 or your hemo is 12? Sorry it's confusing to me (as many things on the internet read completely differently than I speak)....or is this being considered your 12 week tests? That makes no sense the doc wouldn't have to do a TMA at week 9 and I would be mad and nicely insist he do it again at 12 as per the PROTOCOL!
