Starting Sofosbuvir GS 5885

Hi, I tried Teleprevir last year and failed. The Institute called me last week to see if I wanted to be in this new study for Sofosbuvir GS 5885. I have not been able to get much info on the net except from the Drug Co.
They have one slot open and I need to be there tomorrow for my bloodwork and EKG. Is there anyone on Med Help that is in this trial or anyone with any info that would help me make this decision. I was so dis-hearted when I could not stay in the Teleprevir study. It is Phase 3, either 12 or 24 weeks and either with or w/o Riba.  It starts next week. Thanks for any info. Reen

Just finished up here. Was examined by study doctor he advised me that I was in his opinion and off the record likely  cured though I have 12 weeks to go. Told me new studies beginning now are 8 & 12 weeks with and without RIBA  - my guess is the goal now is figure out the most cost effective dose as this stuff is going to be very expensive when licensed.

All my lab work from week 10 was perfect - hemo has settled in at 12.5
Enzymes are low end of normal
UDL since week four.

I am a lucky lucky guy!

12 weeks with Riba. Lots of us on same timeline. In waiting room waiting for blood draw, EKG etc.
irritable, insomnia, fatigue & mild rash. All manageable

Started yoga classes 3 weeks ago & find it is really helpful to me. Improved flexibility, I sleep better & it's calming - I go once a week.

I had my 12 week draws today.  It has gone fast.....

Oh yeah.... just remembered; no week 10 PCR results, probably due to the 4th of July extended holiday

My health has been fine.  There have been some improvements in my health.
All of my labs have been fine, with the possible exception of my hemoglobin, which has been in the high anemic range, but sometimes in the low normal range.

I HAVE been more irritable than is usual for me...... of course.... I have my reasons.  I've had to share my house for 2 months..... w/ a co-worker/friend, but I sure wish I was still living alone.

No huge tantrums, death threats, fights or arrests, so things could be worse. : )

I just finished working one months straight, some of which were 80% were a mix of 8, 10 and 12 hours days.

I'm able to work, but I sure need a few days off....week 8 and 10 hb was 12.2 and 12.4 respectively.

That's about it for now; I was up at 4am and I'm dead......

talk later....

I am getting little rashes, but the nurse looked at me today and said; "get ready; here it comes."  I can kind of see what she means and she started me on zyrtec today, which is an OTC drug, except I bought the generic.

It has been summer....hot humid, lots of bugs and lots of sweat working outside.  At 12 weeks I've been pretty fortunate.

wow 3 months..definitely considered cured!!!  you can totally relax now and enjoy having a healthy liver.

My other blood work has always been normal so I don't know if that would be the answer.  I guess they get a note telling us to do a recheck to make sure detected,..then we get the sux to be u note...yuk...that would be awful..i pray nobody gets that ever...time to be rid of this disease FOREVER!!   You my friend, did it and are considered cured!!!
