The new look for the board and old guidelines

I stop in now and then and notice that we now have many more questions and many more answers.  Even w/more questions,, I think the old guideline of one question per poster per day-altho the rules say post much less frequent postings, is still a good one.

Altho there are a dozen q's, only a few posters are posting multiple times about nothing.  the point is to get as many topics and as much knowlege and stories shared, not to have a running monologue for a few.  A few questions no one even tries to answer b/c there are no answers to non questions.  Real concerns get lost.  This comes up every few months and always caused confusion w/the newbies.  No one's pickin' on you, newbies.

Its confusing for us all, b/esp for those just starting treatment.  Me?  I don't really care b/c I tx'd and cl'd 4 yrs ago.  any lingering sx's are gone, my health is better and I don't have to play Russian roulette w/my health.

Just thinkin' about you guys and how ease of navigation and amt of info are so important.

Newbie here to board, old tired non responder to Hepatitis C.  How do I post a question, there is a note at the top of this page about NOT posting questions here?  I have a question that needs a place to be placed.  Thanks!

Wishing I was a grove of willowy willows today

new-sojourn, congratutlations...I hope I can say the same someday. I haven't started treatment yet.

Willow,
I am a newbie, too. You can hit the Post a Question, or in a thread that's ope, put the question in the comment...I think.  One of the threads down below talks about it.  Sorry I not that much help.

I don't think we need to post thread after thread on how to post questions and when to post questions....for example this new post seems a bit redundant to me because we have already been discussing it in another thread right?

It's like this thread was wasted by discussing something that was already being talked about in another thread.

And now...most likely...you can't post a valid question (what does genotype mean...how do I read my test results...etc) because the thread is used up.

If it is a question that you think needs to have it's own SUBJECT than you can Post a Question .. IF all of them aren't already used up for the day on stuff that was just discussed or isn't really a "topic" or such.

Otherwise...just hit post a comment below and ask.

As you can see since you just asked a question and it was answered right away...it works.

So just post in here if you can't and we will do whatever we can for you!

To answer your question, my first name is Mike and my middle name is Simon - that's how I got decided on my screen name. I took my first name and stuck it together with my middle name = mikesimon. And, remind me about yours. Is it n for new - y for young - g for girl. I seem to recall reading that somewhere. This brain fog can kill you. mikesimon

It's N for Naked and Y for Yeller like a version of Old Yeller.

Dang it seems like we are the only one's starting new conversations lately huh?

Wow it seems like we are the only one's starting new conversations lately huh?

Odd it seems like we are the only one's starting new conversations lately huh?

I just got home a little while ago.
My 3rd shift called off again for tonight, so I left work early to come home and get some rest before going back tonight at 10
My daughter GOT INTO an ACCIDENT in my parking lot,...right in front of me while I was standing and waiting for her to pick me up (she had my truck today) so,......I of course had to go through all that stuff that you go through when there has been an accident.
I am struggling not to just melt-down.
My boss showed up before I could get out of there, and of course all he talked about was all the work that still needs to be done before my "big-tour" on tuesday.
Can I borrow your .44 NYGIRL?

Here's a question for ya'll. Do you have a hard time telling co-workers, friends or reletives what is really wrong; that you have HepC? Sometimes I feel like if tell them I'm sick from Hep C tx that they have this preconcieved thing that I'm an ex druggie or have HIV, some people I have told said "oh no big thing, I had that years ago" (what they had was A or B)I also do not want to have to expain over and over again to people what it's all about. Comments please, Thanks...Rich

Forgive me for nterupting your important dialogue, but I think Yellow is the color, where as Yeller describes some one who howls and moans loadly. Thus, a Naked Yeller would of course be a gal who..... oh never mind.....

Gotta say, it sure is nice to see people willing to help us improve. Hall monitors were always under appreciated, in my view.

Thanks Goofy, that puts it in a different and possibly a more flattering light. I guess she could be all yellow and hollering - now that's a sight in my mind's eye. Thanks for your valuable input. Mike

Careful, NYG has a 44.  Wait, she's lost a lot of weight on tx, maybe it's more like a 32 now.

LOL - Ya know she's mentioned flashing the 44 in the car. I always thought it would be better if she had a pair. 'Course it could be hard to steer while waving those things around.

hey, my bad, I do have ongoing dialogues with members, more now then then...about? nothing sometimes, though it's a way to cheer me up when I'm feeling a little blue, other times it's just cause I just get sooooo sad about so many people suffering, and relapsing, and I feel so darn helpless to do anything about it, so I want to take my mind off it for a second, granted, maybe I should off the board...I'll take that under advisement...

but how about people who have a markedly rude tone to their posts and questions? to me that's more offensive, but then, of course, I'd say that because I'm one of the ongoing dialogue people...

I do this myself, it works great! I just don't read dialogues, questions, posts in general, etc. past a few words to where I can suss out that I'm not interested...telling ya, it works great! Good advice to newbies and oldtimers in my view....

I enjoy reading the post, I don't always respond,
but need to read others comments, they assist me many
times and elevate my moods, I hope everyone continues to
do what they do best, and this helps me and others.
I am certain there are others who just read, and
might not yet feel comfortable commenting, but get
there spirits lifed by reading the the posts.
I know I do.

I wish I had a .38  it seems like a .44 might be an exageration on my part...I'm sure my guns are a little smaller ;)

I don't think there are "hall monitors" here but when you see the same posts/threads/all in a row it gets a bit stupiiiiid - people need to know how to post if you see a statement IN a thread then you need to RESPOND to the thread and NOT start another THREAD...things like that.

I admit when I had no idea of the rules either and I went to post and would have posted a whole new thread...but they were used up already = and the only reason that would have happened wsa my own ignorance.  I was glad to find out the "rules".

Dialog doesn't bother me at ALL  -  it's a BIG part of what this board is about, friendship and support and the only way to do that is through dialogue you know?

Hi new-sojourn

Well it seems to me that most of the people want and enjoy the humor, Doesn't always have to be doom and gloom here i hope. For those you don't i say don't read it. Sometimes humor helps make the day go by faster. Don't much matter to me i'm gonna me myself. If the people who try to make someone smile gets the boot, well I lived before, i'll survive long after.

hey, I guess I wasn't very clear...I always think it's kinda funny, (I mean, I chuckle with them - not at them, ha ha!)when someone gets really psst off at this board and says they've had it!!!! and they are never, ever coming back again!!! and then you see them here again the next week...no, I didn't mean that, I just meant that maybe when I'm feeling really silly I'll tone it down a bit in terms of having really long dialogues...what I try to do is reserve it for a thread that's not very long....theme question's already been answered, etc ...before I indulge in a lot of silly stuff, there is a method to my madness... whatever...

but then maybe when I'm on those meds I'll be doing dramatic exits every week, ha ha! I'll probably be the biggest Prima Donna on here, so forgive me in advance...guess all in all we're all very different people with different personalities and it would be impossible if we were all on the same page about everything that goes on here...
