feeling better

Not really a question more of a statement. I was really sick and getting worse every month. i had S.B.P.3 times (I did not know it was so dangerous) and then they finally put me on cypro 1 time per week and also wrote a standing order for a paracentesis every 30 days if i need it. and I feel better, not well by any means but better and I'm not finding myself in the hosp every other month.
I never knew that h.c.v. was so painful! my meld score has not dropped any though but feeling better.

For me, my body constantly battling the virus was an issue. No doubt about it. Was ready to die I was so sick before tx, now with the virus gone it's amazing how much better I am doing even with varices, portal hypertension and late stage liver disease. Everyday gets a little bit better.

Hep c isn't really the cause of your symptoms exactly except that is sounds like you have somewhat advanced cirrhosis so for example the SBP is a symptom of cirrhosis not hep c.

It does sound like you maybe decompensating but that is for your doctor to determine. As was said by Kim if you treat and cure Hep c you could have some improvement in your symptoms.

I hope you are seeing a hepatologist associated with a transplant center as they are best equipped to monitor your treatment in the setting of cirrhosis because of your SBP you will need to be closely monitored on treatment.

Best of luck to you and wishing you good health

I have cirrhosis too and was about ready to throw in the towel 2 years ago. Got transferred into a transplant center, got good nutritional support and guidance and the right meds and they turned me around. My MELD went down from 18 to 7, I did treatment again and tomorrow is my 12-week EOT labs. I feel better every single day and I'm very hopeful I will achieve 24-week SVR. Don't give up ever as it can get better and I am living proof. Hang in there and rant and rave, we will listen.

At least prophylactic therapy is now an option.  So nice that you are able to keep the Spontaneous infection at bay.
Aritzr its really time for you to get treated.  They are now able with the new meds to eliminate the virus.  Doesn't matter if your decompensated or not.  The side effects are minimal and the benefit is sure worth looking into.  I've SVRed and can tell you that you feel so much better.  We have others that were decomped and dramaticly improved their status.
I encourage you to look into it further.  Having liver disease is tuff enough.
A cure of your virus would help you to feel so much better.
Know that we all want the best for you.
