is it hoax or true ? Oral transmission

I have read in few forward mails and  articles, that a person eating food contaminated with human blood getting Blood borne disease . I thought it must be a rumor but i had small fears while eating foods like , fruit salads , fruit juices and burgers . Can BBV like hiv or hcv ,if present on food , cause infections?

Hello.

Trinity and Diane are both correct. HCV is transmitted by blood to blood contact only. However, the mode of transmission for Hep A is the "fecal/oral" route. Use the bathroom, don't wash your hands, prepare someone's dinner...wall-ah...Hep A for everyone. Gross, but true. No such worries with Hep C.

Didn't Ashton Kutcher get hepA that way at some event where a bartender had it or something? I remember that being in the news.

I think it would only be possible with Hep A. Wasn't there something about a well known chef with hepatitis? They made a big stink out of it. I think it was out in Hollywood or somewhere. As I recall he was a chef that prepared dinner for a big function? I think it was Wolfgang Puck?

The virus couldn't survive the gastric juices in our stomach. Trinity is right. You don't have anything to worry about getting HCV that way anyhow.

You can't contract Hepc from ingesting food that has infected blood on it.  Hepc is transmitted from blood to blood contact only, as in it HAS to enter the bloodstream for infection to occur.  Hence, you could eat salad with Hepc dressing on it all day every day and never become infected.  I don't know about any other blood born virus transmission.  This is a Hepc forum.

Nobody eats food with blood on it .
My concerns are that , what if someone who is preparing juices , while using knife got drop of blood on food without their knowledge.

Is BBV possible for persons eating those thing?

Sorry if my question was so stupid.I thought this place is best one to solve my queries regarding transmission this way.
