I gained 8 pounds on Incivek and lost it in a week after finishing. I am just on SOC now, and weight is slowly going down...I'm hoping this will help get those last stubborn 5 lbs off! :)

hi i been on peg an rib   I am in week 23 /24 so far lost about 25 pounds due to fack nothing u put in your mouth tast like anything . I have such awful taste an go to be with it wake up with it. week nervous and feeel like crap  .I dont sleep havent since since  I started treatment . take AMBIEN IF I GET 4 HOUR VERY LUCKY MY BODY IS TIRED   I PRAY FOR THIS TO END SOON FOR US ALL AND WE ARE ALL und

I lost 40 lbs first TX.....gained 50lbs back within 6 mos...ooops......

I gained 4 pounds during 12 weeks on Incivek, but have lost 24 pounds in the 22 weeks of post-Incivek tx. I still have 14 weeks to go, and if I lose another 10 pounds I'll be at my ideal weight for the first time in 30 years! Oddly, in two previous tx's I gained weight rather than losing it, and I have no idea why it is turning out differently this time.

Glad to hear you're doing well at three months, and that your weight is stable. I believe I 've gained a little, but hope to drop it after Incivek.
Will cut back on some of the fat in 2 weeks, and maybe I'll be able
to move around a little more.

Try not to worry although I know that is hard. I was terrified before starting tx.  starting was the hardest part. I did Bocep and my weight stayed about the same. Maybe lost a few in the middle weeks but ended tx at 114, started tx at 114.   Like flcyclist said I lost some muscle.  July 4 will be 3 months since I ended tx, UND, and all is getting back to normal.

thanks for your answers everyone. i think my Dr  is going to put me on Triple tx with bocepivir, i so worried about the side effects of these drugs. you guys are so much help. thank you all so much.

I lost 30 pounds during the first 16 weeks, but since then my weight hasn't changed. I'm now at week 22.

The weight loss has been good for me, since I was about 40 pounds overweight at the beginning of treatment. Being overweight has a negative impact on one's health in different ways and can lessen one's quality of life.

Of course, it would be different for someone already at a healthy weight at the beginning of treatment to lose 30 pounds.

I am about the same - at week 42 as when I started -- maybe down a few pounds (on VIC).  We really need to watch it when we are done with treatments.  This weight loss does not usually stick with us and many of us have ravenous appetites after we are done.  I gained quite a bit of weight after me first tx.

On SOC my weight stayed about the same.  I expected to lose weight, so tried to make sure that didn't happen.  My face appeared thinner and gaunt, and lost muscle mass during tx.

I lost 25 lbs with SOC- Boceprevir. I needed to lose, but wasn't trying. I couldn't eat much~

On SOC I gained a few pounds and then lost them. After 12 weeks I'm at my starting weight. I think the gain was due more to being anemic. The rapid drop left me too weak to do anything, but after I adjusted to the low hgb I lost the weight with a little more activity.....and less "self-medicating" my boredom with food. :)

I gained 24-25 pounds on Incivek, but I have lost all of that weight by March or April. Plus I lost an additional 15 more pounds. So I am down a net total of 15 pounds since starting treatment.

I stayed about the same....I gained 5 pounds on Incivek...then lost it afterwards....I have not been able to exercise much...certainly not like I did before tx....I do walk though.....the medications affected my muscle mass big time so things have moved around a lot.  It's important to keep our weight up though....at least that is what they told me....I used to be really worried about my weight and through tx I have been able to forget about worrying about it.  It was a natural letting go.  My health and getting rid of this virus are number1.
