No symptoms, but I'm not sure

I recently found out that my ex boyfriend has herpes, and he apparently has for years, long before we were even together.

It's been over a year since I've had intercourse with him, but having just found out the news, I'm kind of worried.

I've looked at the symptoms online, and I haven't had any of them. Nothing abnormal has happened in the last year that I can recall. I've had other sexual partners since then and none of them have said anything either.

I know I'm probably just psyching myself up, but I did read that sometimes you can be infected with herpes and not have common symptoms or a breakout for up to a year later.

I've already made an appointment to get checked, but it's not for a couple of days..I really can't stand to wait that long?

Your risk was low but it's a good idea to follow up on this with a type specific herpes igg blood test if you haven't had one since you ended the relationship.

Oh, I forgot to mention...everytime we did have sex, it was always protected.

I think that's an important fact, hopefully it makes a difference.

thanks.
