Herpes??
On Jan 6th I had a new sexual partner. We had unprotected vaginal intercourse. He said he was clean but afterwards I was sore (from rough intercourse) and there was also some itching later that day and the next. I thought it could be BV so I took a home test and it was negative. I started getting discharge also so I figured it was a yeast infection and got monistat. A few weeks later I had frequent urination, asked my doc about it, they said uti and to drink a lot of water. Now, just recently I noticed some discharge and itching again but it only lasted a day or so. I got tested for all chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis and they were all NEGATIVE
But last night my anxiety level got really high when I started itching in my genital area so I started examining my vagina and anus.. because it was itching there too. On my vagina there were very small bumps near the clitoris. I'm talking tiny. You could only see them when the skin was stretched really far and I'm pretty sure I have had them for as long as I can remember. On the anus I did not notice anything unless I stretched my butt cheeks really far apart and I couldnt tell if i was seeing something herpes related or just the natural fold of skin once you go further into the anus. (I have never had anal sex but I know that the virus can spread). I kept stretching and looking and actually ended up cracking my skin. This just freaked me out and I thought maybe I just popped a blister (even though I did not really see anything before hand). After the skin broke the area stung if I touched it but it was not too bad. Would a herpes blister cause a lot of pain after it breaks?
Anyways I ended up going to the ER in the middle of the night because I wanted someone to check me out. The doc said that the little bumps on my vagina did not look like herpes at all and he said "and I have seen a lot of herpes in my life". I told him about my anus and he took a quick look and said that everything looked perfectly normal, but I didnt really feel like he looked very hard. He took a culture of my vagina but said that he was almost certain that I did not have herpes, and he thought I was just paranoid. That made me feel a little better but I still have some worry.
So my questions are
1. If it was a herpes blister on my anus would it have fluid to come out of it? And would the pain unbearable to the touch or only sting a little like mine did?
2. If it was a herpes blister on my anus, would the results show from the culture that he took on my vagina? bc he did not take one of the anus. And if that were herpes would puss come out if if were popped?
3. Would I experience this much itching with no visible lesions/ bumps if this was herpes?
I have been known to over analyze EVERYTHING and I do get bad anxiety sometimes but I just think what else could be causing on and off itching and discharge? Thanks so much in advance.
