Very important question about hsv2 and kids

hi all, this is my first and very important post.

If i have hsv2, and shower with my son 4 years old. This means washing him with soap including his genitals, does this pose a risk to him?

This is a very scary thought knowing it might be possible to hurt them when you are there parents and doing the everyday things. Grace and anyone else can you help me here please?

I am clothed with shorts in the shower and obviously do not touch any parts of my body.

herpes is easily killed with soap and water. you don't have to worry about sharing the same bar of soap either - not an issue. everyone in a household should have their own towel, washcloth, body puff, toothbrush and razor - those things should never be shared for reasons beyond herpes transmission, many common germs are easily transmitted through sharing them.

you don't need to be clothed in the shower either!!!  you do not have the sort of contact with kids that it takes to transmit the virus. we call it a sexually transmitted infection for good reason - it takes that sort of naked and intimate contact to transmit the virus. bathing with small children is completely normal !!!

Thanks grace I got worried when cleaning his genitals with soap, then rinsing them with the aid of my hands to make sure all soap had come off. Very scary. Sorry for asking
