Sorry!

I pledged my help in welcoming newbies on Moki's (think it was hers) thread. Since then I've been absent - having a really rough patch and not able to participate. Even tonight will be a real quicky. Just wanted to say I'm sorry I haven't helped. I promise to do better as soon as I feel better. Have my LP tomorrow first thing - yeehaw! So it probably won't be then - will be licking my wounds (not literally, if I were that flexible, My DH would never leave the house, lol;)

Hi JudyAnn
You should really start these conversations as a new post - not many of us will stop and look at these old ones ...... and I want to be sure your questions get the attention so you get the help you are looking for.

my best,
L

I made a "doughnut" for my mother to help with her bedsores, by using quilt batting made into a circle (very spongy and thick is the best) and put an outer layer of that soft stuff they make baby blankets out of...the word escapes me.  It's the real, real soft material.

It really helped my mother and she said it was the most comfortable and soothing thing she could lay on.  It did well to keep her bedsore off the bed and the pressure off her hip.  I made one for her ear too, since she always layed on one side and one side only.  She said she could breathe better on one side.  Her ear was huge from where it kept rubbing on her pillow and was very sore, so I made her one that kept her ear from touching the bedsheet.  The swelling and soreness went away in a few days.

Make sure you keep these "pillows" clean and dry.  I hand washed hers in baby detergent (Dreft) and fabric softner.

Best Wishes,
Heather

Les has been in the hospital from last Tues eve. The wound care team was called. The is a notice on her door that asked people to wear gloves and gown. They are also cheeking for MERSA. She has a UA infection, that is still out for determanation. She has bedsore fight on her tailbone. Heather3418 spook of a doughnut she made. Sure would like to know all about it. We are also getting her an air mattress. We will know more hopefully on Monday. Les had a very bad nursing facilty stay so for now her father & I (with the help of her Kendra) will care for her at home. I need all the wise words from this wonderful group. Love, JudyAnn

It was my post and if you remember I did state that nobody is always up to replying for just the reasons you stated. Don't be sorry. There is nothing to be sorry about. You have been there before and you will again when you feel better. Just focus on yourself and feeling better. OKAY!!

I wish you luck tomorrow and look after yourself. We'll see you here when you are up to it. My prayers are with you and I do hope you feel better soon.
